Torre del porticciolo

Porto Conte Park
The Porto Conte Park covers a vast area in the north-west of Sardinia right in Alghero country including the lagoon Calich, the system of Monte Doglia, and the wide gulf of Porto Conte.
Inside the park there is the national forest of "Le Prigionette" extended for 12 km in the town of Alghero. In the forest there are many species of plants and animals protected by international conventions. The territory of the park will restore important monuments of nuragic (Palmavera, Sant'Imbenia), remains of Roman mansions (Sant'Imbenia), coastal towers of Spanish age. Among the fauna species, they have been identified 35 species of mammals and 150 species of birds.
NePtune caves
Continuing the road along the Porto Conte Park, we find the protected marine area of Capo Caccia which houses the largest karst phenomenon around the Mediterranean with its caves.
The most famous is that of Neptune that extends for 2500 m and offering amazing scenarios; reachable by boat starting directly from the port of Alghero or through a staircase that runs along the entire mountain, called the "Capriolo scale."

Alghero, also known as "Barceloneta (small Barcelona)", overlooking one of the most beautiful coasts of Sardinia and the north-west of the same.
It was fortified with several towers both inside and outside the city, along the coast. Along the ramparts of Alghero and near the harbor are the signs of Spanish rule fairly obvious: the towers that surround the old town are still almost intact and we will mention some as the Tower of Sulis, the Tower of Porta Terra, San John and St. James.

bosa
Continuing towards the coast you get to Bosa, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Planargia main hub, is a picturesque town located on the edge of the river Temo, the only navigable river in Sardinia. This has been since ancient times a major economic resource, but also a danger because of the inevitable flooding that struck the lower part of the city.
Crossing the old bridge that crosses the river just fear will reach the historic center of Bosa, very charming especially at night when the lights illuminate the whole river and all internal roads giving a charming and romantic.
At the top you can visit the castle and its fortress from which one can see the whole city and to the full length of the river that flows into the sea.
stintino
The main tourist attraction is the beach of La Pelosa, situated in the far north-western part of Sardinia, overlooking the Gulf of Asinara and on the island, marked by a fine white sand and the water of the turquoise sea, crystal clear , as to be considered one of the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia.
A little further we see the Isola Piana, used in the past for grazing cattle that was brought there with a characteristic transhumance made with fishing boats. On the island stands out with its 18 meters high an Aragonese tower built in the sixteenth century.
The west coast of the Sea of Sardinia opened see the beautiful cliffs and several rocky coves including Cala Coscia di Donna and Steam.
castelsardo
Castelsardo overlooks the Asinara Gulf, in the historical region of Anglona in northern Sardinia, in a succession of rocky coastline with small coves. With this position the place offers a unique panorama sweeping over all of the gulf coasts, including those of Corsica.
On top of the plateau rises the fortress of the Doria Castle, which houses the Museum of Mediterranean Weaving.
At the location Multeddu stands the Elephant Rock, a striking dark trachyte carved by the wind.
For lovers of sailing and windsurfing are many spectacular beaches in the area, including in particular Punta La Capra, Punta Paddimi Li and Lu Bagnu.
The city is famous for the rites of Holy Week, with obvious Spanish influences that recall the faithful from all over Sardinia.
